is it easier or harder to follow christ?
i dont think there's a distinct answer to this question. following christ calls for a life not based on worldly standards but on something much greater. it calls for a life of living differently. of putting our hope in something not visible or tangible. it calls for patience. for humility. for rejoicing in suffering. some days i find myself thinking how easy it would be to give way to the world. to fall into the temptation that this earthly life can give me more than the life my creator can. some days i find myself defeated, up against forces too great for me to face alone. and then i realize-i'm not alone. we have a God who is big. bigger than any insult i recieve, bigger than any rejection i face. the Lord never said life with Him would be easy and free of obstacles. but He does promise us strength. freedom. joy. and life. not just an ordinary life but full life.
there are gonna be days that are hard. where the prince of this world pursuades me to believe that i'm not a daughter of the most high. days where i feel discouraged. defeated. but there will be also days where there will be joy.encouragment. lives going from death to life. fellowship. reminding me that the Lord is constantly moving and working in ways i can't even imagine.
i'm learning that it's not always gonna be easy nor will it always be hard. for there is a time for each season-whether joyous or mournful, easy-going or obstacle filled. we have hope in something far greater than ourselves and the world we live. for we are citizens of the high heaven. and whether easy or difficult-it's worth it.
