head or your heart

lately i've just been tired and stressed. i've dreaded going to school-junior year is kicking my butt- i haven't wanted to hang out in big groups-all i've really wanted to do is crawl in my bed and sleep for a week. it's one of those times where its just rough. but this morning i was reminded of how great i have it, how much i can influence others, and how blessed i am to have fellowship like no other. we have campaigners every wednesday morning and although it's sometimes really hard to get out of bed an hour early it's the best way to start my day. i love being with kids in my school that have the same vision as me. and i love hearing their thoughts, how they are doing and just getting to stop in our busy lives and take time to read, to love, to learn, and to grow together. this mornings lesson was on mark 2-jesus healing the paralytic man. we talked about the four friends who carried the man to the roof so that jesus was able to see him/heal him. we talked about the characteristics of a true friend-someone who's trustworthy, accountable, genuinely cares. we also talked about the 4 friends of the paralytic man who did anything and everything they could to get their friend to see jesus. and this was really convicting for me. becuase lately i've been apathetic. i haven't been showing my friends who are lost what a true sister in christ should look like. someone with the mindset of christ. i've been sulking in my "tired and stressed life". and this morning i really realized, i have it good. i have the opportunity to take hard classes in school, to love on high school and middle school kids and share about the lord/what he's done in my life. sean (who was leading this morning's lesson) reminded me of how much of an impact we have on our high school. and its so true. i'm with these guys everyday for 6 hours. and instead of focusing on what i'm not doing or how tired and stressed i am, i should simply just be praying throughout the day, radically loving my friends, and relying on Him with whatever is going on. He can handle anything and everything. today i'm thankful for campaigners. for fellowship. for the simple reminders of how much i'm blessed.

my small group leader gave us an example one time-our problems are sometimes like a small black dot on the paper where our all blessings are the white space around it. it's time to stop focusing on the small black dot on the paper and start focusing on all of the white around it.

only 2 days til fall weekend and one week til thanksgiving break :)
