right now i'm a zombie...but it was totally worth it.

man, i am exhausted. getting home around 2am last night and not sleeping very well plus waking up at 715 for school was not the best idea. but holy cow it was totally worth it. last night a group of us went to charlottesville to see mat kearney in concert(MY DREAM CONCERT). we left after school, got there around 6, grabbed a bite to eat, and then headed to the jefferson theater. I had been there once before for the parachute concert that was over the summer (that was my official first concert-it was so so awesome). We met up with some other friends from roanoke and a few girls that went to UVA. we were literally standing in the front two rows right in front of the microphone. nbd right? the leagues played the opening act-they were good. the singer looked like he was having the time of this life which i loved. and then mat came on. i was freaking out. he was literally less than 5 feet away from me and we were all going crazy (mat yeah we're on a first name bases...haha totally kidding-i wish) opened with count on me, which was an interesting pick (i was thinking ships in the night) but it was an awesome opening song-it really got the crowd pumped. Although i've only been to 2 concerts and winter jam (i think that counts?) mat was by far my favorite. and it was different then the other concerts. his music is from the heart, his lyrics are deep and real. and when he performs he's so genuine. one of the coolest things i noticed while i was there was when he was singing he would make eye contact with people in the crowd and hold it for a few seconds. (yes i did get that once and yes i did almost faint...haha). but it's cool how he is able to connect with his audience like that.

mat is doing something he loves and most definitely good at while glorifying the Lord. it's sweet, his music talks a lot about struggles and relying on the Lord through it all. He also sings about his wife/how they met-its so so cute. yes i'm a romantic. but  anways the concert was beyond awesome. mat blew away my expectations. and i couldnt have asked for better people to share it with. i loved it.

so well done mat kearney, thanks for the best concert ever.

ps-wyldlife is tonight. sooo excited. we have some new girls coming and i'm really excited about getting to build relationships with them/grow with old ones. the girls are great. i'll blog about it all soon. they're definitely blog worthy.
