disclaimer: i may sound like an all over the place, emotional high school girl in this post...but right now that's probably what i am....
tomorrow marks my last official day of high school. ever. what the heck. im crying as i type this which is so lame i know. but it's the first time where i actually feel like things are coming to a close and its sad. i think i am just way more nostalgic and sentimental than the average person which causes events like me graduating, going away for a month, and then going off to college to be a little overwhelming. dont get me wrong i know (or atleast am trusting-which is easier said than done) that the lord has great plans for me in this next chapter but change is scary. i have grown to love the community i have here, the fellowship that's deepened over the past year, the leaders who love me and encourage me and challenge me, the relationships i've formed with people i never imagined being close to. and right now i dont want those things to change.
leading up to senior year everyone always told me"dont take it for granted-the year flies by" which i didn't believe yet here i stand not sure where the time went....they say hindsights 20/20 right? i had no idea (nor could i really have imagined) what the lord had in store for me. but as i look back i see that this year was filled with joy, new relationships, laughter, fellowship, adventure. and i am so thankful for that. the thought of this fall freaks me out. im scared that i wont like this change. im scared of not waking up in my own house and having my fam here. of not being able to see familiar faces in the hall. of being away from people whom i've grown so close with. the list goes on and on (one of my many flaws-i over think and doubt). but i love what it says in habakkuk 1:5-Look at the nations and watch-- and be utterly amazed. For I am going to do something in your days that you would not believe, even if you were told. we will never be able to imagine what the lord has in store. even if we tried. so as scared of these upcoming changes as i am-i know the lord will provide. far more than i can ever expect.
thankful for this past school year. i've grown in more ways than i thought i could. it hasnt all been easy but it's definitely been worth it. as some things come to a close, new beginnings take way.
