sometimes i think it may seem like we're doing great with our relationship with the Lord, and we think we've given our lives completely and fully to our Him...however, in reality we've been decieved. i realized yesterday as i was talking with a friend that i had fallen into the trap. it's human nature to turn to other things to find our identity, worth, life. but we will never be fully satisfied with those things. each day i think we have to make a choice to follow our creator or the world. heck maybe even multiple times a day we have to make that decision. and i realized yesterday that for the past few weeks i've been so caught up in the "works" of things instead of trusting/obeying/resting in the Lord. i put such a burden on myself-thinking that it was my fault this girl doesn't come to club anymore or that if only i had a core group of girls in the middle school then contact work would be so much easier. i kept adding to the list, putting more and more weight on my shoulders of being a better leader, better role model, better sister, etc. yesterday the Lord used one of my really good friends to remind me that i'm free. that we are free in christ. we are not the ones changing these kids' hearts-He is. we can love them and share with them who we know and believe Christ to be, but that's it-He does the rest. and thats something to be confident in-the Lord will work in these kids in His time. i love that i'm free. that He broke the chains of this world for me. i want to live in that freedom.
It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery. Galatians 5:1
